Bring-a-Friend Discount ends January 14th _________________________________ What is Release, Immerse and Emerge! RIE was birthed as a creative meditation practice co-created by my dear friend / colleague Rosy Aronson and myself. The two of us had shared a longing to relax into and express ourselves through a creative practice -- without the pressure to perform, to be productive, or even social.
What began as a longing in each of us to create a freeing arts practice for ourselves, became a shared desire to provide an authentically enlivening experience for others. For over a year, we explored the questions, "What kind of conditions would just naturally, organically nurture the creative process in people? And, what kind of structure and container could safely hold and guide a diversity of experiences?"
Once we found answers to these questions, we began offering R.I.E. to the local community. Keeping things as simple as possible, we've "gathered" the essentials: a large space to move (i.e. Ashkenaz in Berkeley, Church by Lake Merritt, etc.), a variety of art materials to play with, a living communal altar, an inspiring backdrop of music, and fun tips for releasing the creative impulse.
Since its inception, we offered RIE as a drop-in meditation practice.
And while it was wonderful and fulfilling, it wasn't a sustainable
structure for us... energetically or financially. And yet we
still long to be able to bring this profound experience out into the
world. So we've been percolating on ways to integrate this "practice"
into theme-inspired workshops. Our first 2-portal workshop is about to begin! PLEASE KEEP READING, and/or go to the end of this page to register for ART FOR PEACE.
R.I.E. is for:
*People who long to sink-in, loosen-up, let-go, follow-their-own-expressive-flow in a judgment-free and deeply permission-giving environment. *People who are open to an alternative meditation practice that uses the creative process as a vehicle to coming home. *People who can use the gift of time & spaciousness in their busy everyday lives... where there are no 'shoulds', no one to take care of, nothing to prove, no need to 'perform', and plenty of time to nourish and feed the heart, body and soul. *People who love the idea of connecting deeply with themselves while enjoying a shared group environment. *People who love to explore and express themselves through the arts (whether it be dancing, doodling, collaging, sculpting, painting, tinkering, writing, listening to wonderful music, or introspecting with the help of tarot decks and inspiring reading materials). How R.I.E. Can Benefit Existing Groups Thanks to the feedback of our participants, we've come to realize that what we're doing does not only serve as a wonderful personal practice, but provides an opportunity for already existing groups to build community while nourishing their individual members. Because of this, we are currently offering R.I.E. as a self-contained experiential workshop to groups, organizations and communities. If you are a member of (or know of) a group that might benefit from one or more R.I.E. sessions (each lasting 2 and 1/2 hours), please let us know! It would be an honor to help facilitate a positive, bonding and self-nurturing experience for you and the people you live, play, pray or work with.
An Invitation to Collaborate!
Because of the adaptive nature and integrative potential of R.I.E. (and because we can travel -- by car!), we are also looking to collaborate with other Bay Area workshop leaders and/or businesses who would like to include a rich creative process (tailored to their specific needs) as part of their offering -- whether it be a weekend workshop, a week-long retreat or a staff training.
For example we will be using R.I.E. as an integrative part of the Holotropic Breathwork process in an upcoming weekend workshop in December. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION. If our art-immersion practice could somehow deepen and expand the wonderful work you're already doing with your workshop participants, we would be thrilled to join forces.
Lastly, we are excited to offer RIE as a fundraising event and/or self-contained experiential workshop to exiting groups & organizations. If
you happen to be a member of -- or know of -- a group that would like
to raise some money, and/or love an individually nourishing yet
group-bonding experience, please let us know! We'd love to serve you
and the people you live, play, pray and work with!
